WatchDog provides breakdown diagnosis and system reset functions for wireless Access Point (AP). User can set the time and period for the diagnoses of wireless AP by WatchDog. WatchDog will communicate with wireless AP by sending the diagnostic information wirelessly, then detect or identify diagnostic feedbacks through wireless and/or wired communication, to check whether the sending and receiving functions of the specific wireless AP are normal. If the diagnostic information is not returned, or return with error or transmission time out, and detect the wireless AP is not functioning properly, WatchDog will send signal to reset the power source of the wireless AP, to restart the entire AP for proper function.

Besides providing wireless AP breakdown diagnosis and system reset functions, WatchDog also provides breakdown diagnosis and system reset functions for any IP based network equipment. At specific time set, WatchDog sends diagnostic information to network equipment through wireless and/or wired communication, to check the feedback diagnostic information from network equipment, and determines whether the sending and receiving function of network equipment to work properly. If the diagnostic information is not returned, or return with error or transmission time out, and detect the network equipment is not functioning properly, WatchDog will send signal to reset the power source of the network equipment, to restart the network equipment for proper function.

| WatchDog also provides invasion detection function, which can be used to detect whether there is any unusual (unexpected) activities inside the coverage area of wireless network which include: the station sending out of large amount of de-authenticate or de-associate packets, unusual packets transmission for site survey process, the station that probes wireless network but does not log in, the station that already de-associates with the wireless network but still sending packets to the particular wireless network, unexpected BSS time stamp overflow electric waves that affect the wireless network.

System Specifications:
- Able to connect to specific (targeted) ESSID or BSSID wireless AP according to time set, and able to send detection or diagnostic information to the connected AP and get the feedback (reply) from the AP to determine whether the sending and receiving function of detected AP is working properly.
- If the diagnostic information is not returned, or return with error or transmission time out, and detect the wireless AP is not functioning properly, WatchDog will send signal to reset the power source of the wireless AP, to restart the entire AP for proper function.
- When detected that the AP is not functioning properly, the system will automatically send an email to inform the administrator.
- Able to connect to specific IP equipment according to predefined time, and able to send detection or diagnostic information to specific IP equipment to determine whether the sending and receiving functions for that particular IP equipment is working properly.
- If the diagnostic information sent to a specific IP equipment is not returned, or return with error or transmission time out, and detect the specific IP equipment is not functioning properly, the system will send signal to reset the power source of the IP equipment, to restart the IP equipment for proper function.
- When detected that the specific IP equipment is not functioning properly, the system will automatically send an email to inform the administrator.
- Able to send feedback diagnostic information through wired or wireless network.
- Provide the setting or configuration page for administrator to setup the ESSID, BSSID, IP, diagnostic period, and system IP management.

- Able to detect any unusual wireless probing packets under the 802.11b/802.11g wireless network environment and issue an alarm.
- Able to detect and find unusual packets transmission from SSID under the wireless network environment.
- Able to detect the station that sends large amount of de-authenticate and de-associate packets to paralyze the coverage area of wireless network.
- Able to detect unusual packets transmission for site survey process.
- Able to detect the wireless AP that changes its wireless channel.
- Able to detect the station that probes the wireless network but does not log in.
- Able to detect the station that already de-associates with the wireless network but still sending packets to the particular wireless network.
- Able to detect the 0 length probe response (error) replied from station.
- Able to detect the unexpected BSS time stamp overflow electric waves that affect the wireless AP of the wireless network.
- If any invasion is detected, the system will immediately send an email to inform the administrator.
