[Feb., 2014 from Taipei] It has been more than 14 years since Decision Group introduced lawful interception solution to its law enforcement agencies in 2000. In our customer side, there has also been data accumulated after several years on a scale of tens Terabytes. Among data, there is valuable information of criminal behavior, pattern, motive and thinking logic behind for LEA staff, criminal psychologist, sociologist and sociolinguist…etc.  

For the past few years, Decision Group has received many requests and interviewed many customers on how to get more information from this huge intercepted data. We surly understand the importance and significance of analysis on intercepted data, no matter during investigation period or after case closing; however, we have not yet provided a solid solution to our customers until we are sure about the efficiency and feasibility of solution.

In 2013, Decision Group invited several scholars for study on standard procedure of LI lab, and eventually we understand the general principle of ISO 27037 for digital forensics in criminal investigation.  Based on this principle, we decided to provide an extensive solution of intercepted data analysis for LEA. We understand such solution development as an evolutionary journey for solution providers as well as customers, because the demand is versatile and fluctuated with a change of environment.

In this field, there is a total brand new world for Decision Group. We will work with our close partner to develop such solution step by step with emerging technologies such as big data mining, natural language processing…etc.

Now we are engaging a pilot project of intercepted data analysis on social network media for a customer. The target of this one is to find out the operation model of the significant cybercriminal events in order to form the better policy of counter measurement against these crimes by LEA. For other demands by different LEA customers, we also study to develop some added modules for different requirement on top of this pilot system. By this way, there must be a clear and consistent policy and legal condition on data usage in customer side for system deployment.

In order to have more partners join this initiative of data analysis of LI lab with us, we also provide training program for our partner to co-work on this system aligned with business demand. We provide two free slots of local accommodation for each partner in Taipei, Taiwan during the partner training period.
